NOTICE TO ACVO DIPLOMATES/MEMBERS REGARDING ACVO LOGO USE FOR BUSINESS:

We have been advised by multiple legal sources that ACVO Diplomates should not be using the official business logo of the ACVO in their business promotions or correspondence. In the past ACVO permitted its Diplomates use of the logo and other trademarked items. As of October 1, 2009 we asked our Diplomates to begin to transition to using the ‘Diplomate logo’ (see below). We ask that you please honor this request as soon as is possible for legal liability reasons. Please email for a digital copy of the ACVO Diplomate logo.

Also be aware that you need permission to use some of the other trademarks currently owned by ACVO, 1) “DACVO”, 2) “DIPLOMATE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF VETERINARY OPHTHALMOLOGISTS”, 3) “AMERICAN COLLEGE OF VETERINARY OPHTHALMOLOGISTS”, 4) “ACVO”, and 5) “…THAT LIGHT SHALL PREVAIL OVER DARKNESS…”. You do not need to ask specific permission to use numbers 1 and 2 as that was conferred when you were boarded.
