Great Horned Owl Cataract Surgery by Drs. Lynsey Wagner & Nicholas Millichamp

Roxie, a nine-year-old great horned owl at the Houston Zoo, was diagnosed with a cataract in her left eye. Being able to fly and see her trainers were important for Roxie’s welfare, so it was determined that the cataract needed to be removed. Boarded veterinary ophthalmologists, Dr. Nicholas Millichamp from Eye Care for Animals and Dr. Lynsey Wagner from Gulf Coast Animal Eye Clinic performed the surgery in November. Roxie has since made a successful recovery since her surgery!
