“A Little Bit of Knowledge and the Right Instruments Go a Long Way: Medical and Surgical Management of Corneal Disease”
Description
The focus of this talk will be to provide participants with a knowledge base and skill set to more accurately and effectively diagnose and treat corneal disease.  The talk will provide practical information on both medical and surgical management of corneal disease.  Participants should be able to implement information taught here when they return to their practice to provide better care to their patients.
Biography

Dr. Hamor graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987, then he completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Auburn University in 1988.  He was in private practice in Alabama for two years from 1988 to 1990. Then he completed a residency and masters at Colorado State University from 1990 to 1993.  He has been teaching at the U of I for 14 years (since July of 1993).  His primary professional interests include the training of residents, interns and students.  Has have received several teaching awards which include:  The Dr. Gordon and Mrs. Helen Kruger Teaching Excellence Award, 2005, The Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Helper Faculty Collegiality Award, 2003, The Campus Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Teaching, Honorable Mention-University, 1999, The Chicago Veterinary Medical Association Outstanding Instructor Award, 1998, and The Carl J. Norden Outstanding Teacher Award, 1996.

 

Dr. Hamor is blissfully married to Marcia (for 23 years in July).  They have two children.  This fall, his daughter (Chandler) will be a sophomore in college and his son (Davis) will be a freshman in high school.
