How could I possibly have gotten through my residency training without so many mentors whom I constantly leaned on?  First along the path were Drs. Diane Hendrix and Dan Ward.  They not only taught me how to live in the South, they pointed me in the right direction.  Next and most importantly has to be Dr. Ralph Hamor who took the ultimate leap of faith in making it possible for me to even be in this position.  At the same time, if Dr. Elizabeth Adkins was not pushing me forward with much more than a gentle nudge, I would have never believed I even had what it took to apply.  To those two I am forever grateful.  Dr. Paul Gerding played a part especially when it came to business issues.  Last but not least came Drs. Carrie Breaux and Shari Poruba who answered my never ending questions, put up with my whining, and just plain listened, making it a reality for me to get to the world of private practice.  Dr. Breaux’s mentoring and guidance made me feel capable to pass that little “quiz.”  At the end of the long tunnel, I have accepted a position at Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services in Kentucky .  In my free time I am also seeing horses at Equine Services Surgical Hospital in Simpsonville , Kentucky .  My heart of hearts has always yearned to land in horse country, and I am thrilled to be back there with my husband, who has stuck with me since high school, horses, dogs, and bird in tow. Thank you all!!!
