PROSPECTIVE OPHTHALMOLOGY RESIDENTS Ophthalmology Residency Position Announcement University of Missouri-Columbia
Ophthalmology Residency Announcement and Deadlines. The University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, is soliciting applications for an ACVO-approved, 3-year residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology, to begin July 1, 2008. Concurrent enrollment in a graduate program will be required. The Veterinary Ophthalmology Service of the MU Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital offers referral services to practicing veterinarians in Missouri and surrounding states. Complete veterinary ophthalmology diagnostic, medical, and surgical services are provided for companion animal, food animal, and equine species. Approximately 2000 cases are presented annually to the ophthalmology service. Of these cases, approximately 75% are small animal, 20% are equine, and the remaining 5% consist of a mixture of food animal, laboratory animal, exotic animal and avian species.
Application deadline is November 5, 2007. Following review of all applications, selected applicants will be contacted by November 9, 2007 and will be invited to interview December 14, 2007. Notification of final selection will be made by December 21, 2007. Interested persons should submit a letter of intent, professional university transcript, curriculum vitae, and three (3) letters of reference (at least two letters should be from board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists).
