The
Ophthalmology Service, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of
California-Davis is announcing a 3-year residency in Comparative
Ophthalmology to begin 1 August 2008. The application deadline is 9
November 2007. Following review of all applications, a selected number of
applicants will be invited for interview by 16 November 2007. Individual
interviews will be scheduled at the University of California-Davis from 26
November through 14 December 2007. The
successful candidate will be offered
the position by 17 December 2007. Interested
individuals should submit: 1.
A personal statement describing background, reasons for applying for
the residency, and career goals. 2.
Curriculum vitae 3.
Three to five letters of recommendation from faculty members or
practitioners. These letters
should address aptitude and performance in intellectual
and creative pursuits pertinent to scientific research, knowledge of
veterinary medicine, clinical skills, ability to apply knowledge in a
clinical situation, and ability to communicate and work with others. 4.
Official transcripts (including grade point average) from all post secondary
institutions attended, and class rank from veterinary school. An official
English translation of these must be included if they are not in English. 5.
The applications must be received at the University of
California-Davis no later than 9 November 2007. Late applications will not
be reviewed. They should be
