I want to begin by thanking everyone in the college. For the articles you have written and the talks you have given, I am a better ophthalmologist because of you. I could not have reached this point without significant support from numerous individuals. With that in mind I would like to thank the following people: Dr. Michael Ringle for his guidance and support during my internship; Dr. Richard Dubielzig for his excellent mentorship during my fellowship along with the other ophthalmologists at the University of Wisconsin, Drs. Ellison Bentley, Christopher Murphy, and Paul Miller; my resident mates, Christine and Brad; my family for their love and support, especially my mother who was there to help me realize my dream of becoming a veterinarian; and finally my amazing and patient husband Matt who has been my biggest supporter during my residency and beyond. Thanks also to my wonderful coworkers at the Animal Eye Center in Rocklin , CA including Drs. Lana Linton and Kathryn Good and the entire staff who have made it a joy to go to work everyday.  Hmmm…I feel as though I’m forgetting someone…Oh yes, my faculty mentors at UC Davis, Drs. Steve Hollingsworth and David Maggs. What can I say? You both taught me so much about life (“let this be a lesson to you”), and of course, ophthalmology.
