Bernese Mt. dog - 7y old intact female with history of sudden onset of blindness. No other health issues reported. On ophthalmic examination dog was bilaterally blind with almost completely absent pupil light response when red light (630 nm, 200 kcd/m2) was used, while she had good pupil light response when blue light was used (480 nm, 200 kcd/m2). ERG amplitudes were normal in both eyes. Dog did not have signs of intraocular inflammation. Fundus examination revealed presence of thin linear hyper-reflective bend OU, which was most prominent in the area centralis, however was expanding in the nasal superior retina also. Arterioral attenuation was present OU. Due to history of sudden onset of blindness, normal ERGs, good pupil constriction with blue light and poor/absent constriction to red light, diagnosis of immune-mediated retinitis was established.
