I
graduated from the
University
of
Pennsylvania
and completed several internships prior to beginning my ophthalmology
residency under the tutelage and watchful eyes of Dr.
Seth Koch, whose practice was located in
Silver Spring
,
Maryland
. Dr. Koch was an excellent teacher, as well as a friend.
During my residency, Dr. Koch ensured I was afforded the opportunity to
meet and learn from some of the best ophthalmologists in the world.
In addition, I was allowed the unique opportunity to study histopathology
at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. I would like to
graciously thank all the mentors who taught and encouraged me along the
way; I gleaned something valuable from each and every one. A special
thanks to my father, Theodore Ted Caruso, who passed away
28 June, 2007
. He was my best friend and biggest supporter.
List of mentors I want to recognize and thank:
Drs. Lionel Rubin, Susan Carastro, Ruth Marrion, David
Covitz, Carmen Colitz, Michael Davidson, Stefano Pizarrani, Brian Gilger,
Federica Maggio, Craig Fischer,
Anne Gemensky-Metzler, Gustavo Aguirre, Brad Holmberg, Nancy Bromberg,
